ALS United® (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy.     • Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name, shipping address, email address, and telephone number, which you voluntarily give to us when you make a donation, register with the Site, or when you choose to participate in various activities related to the Site, such as online forms or surveys.
    • Financial Data: Financial information, such as data related to your payment method (e.g., valid credit card number, card brand, expiration date) that we may collect when you make a donation. We store only very limited, if any, financial information that we collect. Otherwise, all financial information is stored by our payment processor, and you are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions.
    • Derivative Data: Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Site, such as your IP address, your browser type, your operating system, your access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Site.
    • Activity Data (ALS United App): If you use the ALS United mobile app and choose to enable activity tracking, we may access limited fitness activity data from Apple Health, Android Health Connect, Garmin, Strava, and Fitbit. This data is limited to workout types and durations, steps, and distance. We use this information solely to recognize your activity-related accomplishments associated with your participation in our fundraising campaigns. We do not collect or share any other health record data. You retain full control and may connect or disconnect at any time through the Activity Tracking screen in the app.
  2. Use of Your Information Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Site to:
    • Process your donations.
    • Maintain a database of donor information.
    • Communicate with you about your donation and provide updates on how your donation is being used.
    • Improve our Site and enhance user experience.
    • Comply with legal obligations.
  3. Sharing Your Information We do not currently send any communications to individuals, other than gift acknowledgements. However, we may share donor information with ALS United® members to ensure donors are up to date with what’s going on in their communities. This may include sharing donation and contact information with our ALS United® Members unless the donor opts out of communications when they make their donation.
  4. Security of Your Information We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

    • Opt-Out: You may opt out of having your donation and contact information shared with ALS United® members at any time by contacting us at info@alsunited.org or by selecting the opt-out option when you make your donation.
    • Access, Correct, or Delete Your Information: You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can do so by contacting us at info@alsunited.org.
    • Remove Your App Account: If you would like to remove your account and associated user data from the ALS United mobile app, you can submit a formal request here.
  6. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
